These terms cover your use of patchgap.ai, its pages, feeds, files and emails (together, "Patch Gap"), operated by JH Media & Consulting LLC ("we"). By using Patch Gap, or by having an AI assistant use it for you, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Patch Gap.
1. Information only
Patch Gap is free, general information about published software security updates. It is not professional security, IT or legal advice, and it is not a security product, scanner or guarantee of protection. Using it does not create any advisor or service relationship.
2. You decide what to install
You, or the people you choose to help you, are responsible for every update, setting change, restart or other action taken on your devices. Always confirm with the software maker's official page before installing anything, back up important data first, and use only official updaters. If an AI assistant acts on your behalf using our files, you are responsible for what you allow it to do.
3. Accuracy
We summarise official sources with the help of automated tools and AI, and we check them, but information can be incomplete, late or wrong, and software makers change their advice. The official source linked on each page always takes priority over our summary. "Patched", "fixed" and minimum-safe versions refer only to the listed problems. Absence of a problem from Patch Gap does not mean your software is safe. We correct mistakes when we find them; see the corrections page.
4. No warranty
Patch Gap is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
5. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, JH Media & Consulting LLC and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, devices, money, profits or security, arising from your use of, or reliance on, Patch Gap, even if told such loss was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to Patch Gap is limited to US $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
6. Third parties
Software names and trademarks belong to their owners. Patch Gap is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, Apple, Google, Mozilla, Adobe or any other software maker. Links to other sites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content, downloads or practices.
7. Sponsors and affiliate links
Some pages or emails may carry clearly labeled sponsor messages or affiliate links. A sponsor never changes a problem's status, severity or fix steps, and never appears in the agent feeds. See the disclosure.
8. Using our feeds and files
You and your AI assistants may read and use our public JSON, RSS, text and skill files for personal or business use. Please do not overload the site, do not present our summaries as the software maker's own words, and keep the link back to the official source. We may change, rate-limit or stop any feed at any time.
9. Indemnity
If you use Patch Gap in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Whatcom County, Washington, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version; continuing to use Patch Gap after a change means you accept it.
